Frequently Asked Questions

What do we get in our boxes each week?

Every week you will receive at least five vegetable items. See our Produce Share page for examples of what might be in your box every season. An important component of our CSA is the optional free item. Every week we offer one free item, which are crops we grow in smaller quantities that hold importance to the cultural foodways of our staff and community, such as lemongrass, shiso, bitter melon, rice paddy herb, habanero, and more. These items are not automatically included in your share—you must opt in to receive them. You also have the option of adding on meat and eggs to your share.

What happens if I leave town or can’t pick up my produce one week?

We will do our best to make sure you receive all of your produce as long as you communicate with us when to hold your share and when you would like to make it up. We send out a text message every Monday before we start harvesting, and this is your chance to tell us if you would like to either: (1) hold your share because you will be going away, or (2) get a double share to make up for a share you missed. CSA members can only double their share if they held a previous share.

If you missed the option to hold you share, we highly recommend that you ask a neighbor or friend to pick up the produce. We are unable to pick up any boxes that get left behind so any produce within them will be wasted. Our CSA is a commitment, and out of respect for our customers, we put all our time into making it the best that it can be. We ask that you consider your capacity to meet this commitment before you sign up.

What if the share is too big for me?

At the moment we do not offer Half Shares or shares in smaller amounts. If you feel that the share provides too much produce for your household, we recommend that you share it with a friend or a neighbor!
