Indigenous Clam Bake Workshop 2021

Hosted by Indigenous educators and Movement Ground Farm CSA Members, Jonathan Perry (Aquinnah Wampanoag) and Leah Hopkins (Narragansett), this workshop focused on teaching about traditional and modern subsistence practices of Coastal Woodland Native peoples. The educators lead a hands-on workshop on harvesting and preparing bounties from the sea and land. We joined together in seaweed harvesting and building a traditional Wampanoag clambake, all while learning about local Indigenous histories, values, and knowledge of land-based practices.
